DEDICATED, PERSONAL SERVICE
As a real estate advisor, I work to help you reach your goals with care and skill, on both a professional and a personal level. When you partner with me, I bring my experience in Victoria real estate to the team, with honesty and ethical integrity. Combined with the resources of Engel & Völkers, all the elements are in place for our success. My promise is that you and your needs will always be my focus.
My Scotch/Irish and Ukrainian ancestors immigrated to Canada in the 1800s. However, I grew up in Encinitas, a small town on the coast of North San Diego County, California. After university in Northern California, and following a stint in the Peace Corps in Pakistan as a volunteer trainer of English teachers, I moved to Prague, Czech Republic, where I worked in advertising from 1991 to 1999. I also met my wife Veronika there. In 2003 I "repatriated" to Canada to make a family and home in Victoria, BC. Veronika and I have two boys, age 11 and 13.
My family enjoys the nature and the outdoors, and we regularly get out hiking and camping. My great passion is surfing, which I started at age four and took up seriously at age 11. I also enjoy cycling, play blues harmonica, and write poetry. My other interests include jazz, film, science, history, and philosophy. I am a member of the Odd Fellows Victoria, a charitable organization established in Victoria over 150 years ago; a member of the Surfrider Foundation, an environmental organization; and I support Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Amnesty International, among other charities supporting the environment and human rights.
